PALPRAC Full Membership Criteria
a. recognised postgraduate qualification (Diploma / Masters / PhD) from either University of Cape Town, Cardiff University or other qualifications at the discretion of the PALPRAC board
b. at least 36 months full-time experience in a peer-recognised Palliative Care facility / setting e.g. Hospice. Palprac would encourage these practitioners to obtain a formal palliative medicine qualification. A letter of recommendation by a health care worker trained in palliative care will need to be provided.
Those medical practitioners who have done the short course in Palliative Medicine or are interested in the field are welcome to join as Associate members of PALPRAC.
Annual membership is payable upfront before final approval.
NOTE: Currently membership is for medical doctors only. Membership criteria will be broadened in 2021 to accommodate other health care providers interested in palliative medicine. If you are a social worker, palliative care nurse or allied health care worker with palliative medicine qualifications and you want to be part of this process, please contact info@palprac.org.
If you are not eligible to become a PALPRAC member and you are a health care provider, you can register as a a Friend of PALPRAC to receive news general news about Palliative Care as well as CME accredited training or educational opportunities and journal articles. You will also need to be a Friend of PALPRAC to register for these events.
