Information
Palliative care in South Africa is an exciting, growing discipline. Palliative care research informs our work, and local palliative care research drives clinical practice and the larger systems that support this to adapt to our unique setting.
The PALPRAC Research Page aims to connect researchers and potential researchers in the palliative space in South Africa. This aligns with the values, vision, and mission of PALPRAC: to build practitioner competence, build collaborative networks, and support integrated, multidisciplinary palliative care in South Africa. You do not need to be a member of PALPRAC to use this platform.
Connecting to a potential researcher:
Each researcher listed in the table below has indicated their preferences regarding supporting new research. These information fields are listed, and you can use the search function to explore the available research support.
Contacting a researcher is done by using the “Contact Research Member” form (further down on this page). The identities of researchers are protected in line with POPIA. Therefore, you will need to select the assigned researcher’s “Research Number” noted in the first column of the researcher table. Please provide a personal introduction and a brief summary of the research you intend to conduct in the message tab of the form.
The researcher will be contacted on your behalf by PALPRAC, who will share the details you provided. The researcher will then be responsible for following up on your enquiry.
Becoming a research member:
To join this collaborative network, please use the “Become a Research Member” form. Once you have provided the required information, your application will be reviewed by the research team at PALPRAC. Once approved, your information will be available on the PALPRAC Research Page. Personal information will be redacted from public view.
Once your information is posted online, you may receive communication from PALPRAC regarding potential research projects. If you are a member of PALPRAC and listed on the PALPRAC Research Page, you will be encouraged to join the Research Community on Glue Up.
